Legacy Builders
Mission Statement

The Legacy Builders Ministry exists to Connect seniors to one another and to Christ, to Equip them for ongoing spiritual and personal development, and to Empower them to lead lives of purpose, service, and joy

Vision of Legacy Builders

To create a vibrant, engaging, and supportive community where senior adults are celebrated for their wisdom, continue to grow spiritually, maintain holistic wellness, and actively utilize their gifts in service to the church and the wider community.

The Four Core Pillars

I. Spiritual Growth

II. Fellowship & Community

III. Service & Outreach

IV. Health & Wellness

Spiritual Growth & Discipleship
Goal: Deepen faith, provide Biblical understanding, and foster prayer.

I. Weekly Bible Study: Small group bible studies focused on practical theology and a deep dive into Scripture. This includes dedicated prayer time.

II. Wisdom Sessions: Monthly Guest speakers (Pastors of local churches, elders, and theologians) discussing complex faith topics and life applications.

III. Prayer Partners: Establishing a confidential system for seniors to share and pray for specific needs.

IV. Integenerational Mentoring: Pairing seniors with Students or Young Families for wisdom sharing and mutual encouragement.

Fellowship & Community
Goals: Combat isolation, build strong social bonds, and celebrate life.

Monthly Luncheons: A potluck or catered meal with a simple program (Worship, Game Night, or Short Testimony)

Day Trips: Organize excursions to local museums, gardens, or seasonal events. Focus on accessibility.

Hobby Groups: Establishing small groups for specific interests (book club, knitting/crafts, board games).

Caring Visits: Visits to local hospitals, care facilities, and homebound members.

Service & Outreach
Goals: Provide meaningful opportunities for seniors to use their gifts and experience.

Church Support Team: Utilizing senior skills for tasks like stuffing bulletins, archiving records, or simple maintenance.

Adopt a Missionary: Dedicating the ministry to consistently support a specific local or world missionary through prayer, notes, and financial contributions.

Community Projects: Simple local outreach or Samaritan's Purse during the holiday season (Creating care packages to deployed troops, sorting food bank items, and packing shoe boxes for Samaritan's Purse)

Heath & Wellness
Goals: Promote physical, mental, and emotional health.

Health seminars: Topics presented by local professionals (Fall prevention, nutrition, understanding Medicare, and financial planning).

Memory & Brain games: Social sessions focused on mental stimulation (puzzles, light strategy games, learning a new simple skill).

Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.
